How to Synchronize Outlook Data with Yahoo?

Most of us use more than one email account to manage our personal and private email accounts. Instead of accessing your email accounts separately, you can easily access them simultaneously using the Microsoft Outlook email program. Microsoft Outlook allows you to easily synchronize your email accounts to Outlook and have easy access to all your emails, contacts, calendar, appointments, and other data from a single place. If you are using a Yahoo Mail account and wish to set it up on the Microsoft Outlook program, you can do so easily by following the steps provided below.

 Steps to Synchronize Outlook Data with Yahoo

Before we proceed with the configuration process, make sure you have Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer.

Steps for Automatic Configuration

1.) Launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer and click on the File option.

2.) Under the File option, click on the Account Information option.

3.) Under Account Information, click on the Add Account option.

4.) On the next window, click on the Add Account.

5.) Next, enter your name, Yahoo Mail email address, and password in the relevant fields and click on the Next option. Outlook will start the synchronization process of your Yahoo Mail account to it.

6.) When the process gets completed, click on the Finish button.

Steps for Manual Configuration

1.) Launch the Outlook program on your computer and click on the File option located in the top-left corner.

2.) Under the File option, click on the Add Account option. A new window will open on your screen. On that window, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and then click on the Next button.

3.) Now, select the POP or IMAP option on the subsequent screen and click Next. You will be directed to the POP and IMAP Account Settings window.

4.) On the next window, add information as mentioned herein below:

User Information

  • Your Name: Your name
  • Email Address: Your Yahoo Mail account’s email address.

Server Information

  • Account Type: IMAP
  • Incoming mail server:mail.yahoo.com
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):mail.yahoo.com

Logon Information

  • User Name: Your username
  • Password: Your account’s password

5.) Next, select the More Settings option located at the bottom-right corner of the same window. Select the Outgoing Server tab and click on the checkbox next to these two options:

  • My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  • Use same settings as my incoming mail server

6.) Now go to the Advanced tab and enter the following information on your screen as mentioned below:

  • Incoming server (IMAP): 993 or 143
  • Incoming server encrypted connection: SSL
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): 587 or 465
  • Outgoing server encrypted connection: TLS or Auto

7.) Then click on the OK button and hit the Next button. This will open a Test Account Settings window on your screen. If the information entered by you is correct, the test will complete successfully.

8.) After the test gets completed successfully, simply click on the Finish button. And now you will be able to access your Yahoo Mail account via Microsoft Outlook. Your Yahoo Mail account will get synchronized with Outlook.
